A bound Hei Toki pendant with complex binding and hand-carved in stunning New Zealand Kokopu jade or pounamu by Ernesto Ovalle. This rare type of stone is named after the colouring on a number of native trout.

The Toki is the adze blade was bound onto a wooden handle and used to carve the great canoes and details on the meeting houses.   It represents a creative or artistic person and the coming together of head, hand and heart.
